Recruiter Privacy Policy for Bunjee.ai

Bunjee.ai ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal data when you use our platform as a recruiter or job seeker ("you"). Bunjee.ai is designed to support companies in evaluating and interviewing job candidates using AI tools. We act as a data controller for all personal data processed through the platform.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Recruiters using Bunjee.ai to create job posts, evaluate CVs, and conduct AI-led interviews.

  • Job Seekers applying to roles through Bunjee.ai’s public job links.

Bunjee.ai is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under this age. If you are under 16, please do not use our platform.

2. What Data We Collect

For Recruiters:

We collect the following data from recruiters to provide our services:

  • Full name, work email, phone number

  • Company name and related job post information

  • CVs and related documents submitted to the platform for evaluation

  • Inputs provided to the AI system (e.g., evaluation criteria, job description details)

  • Activity data within the platform (e.g., candidate rejections, question submissions)

For Job Seekers:

We collect the following data from candidates:

  • Full name, email, phone number

  • Uploaded CV (PDF or Word format)

  • Interview responses and recordings (if participating in AI-led interviews)

Candidates are responsible for the content in their CV and interview responses.

3. Why We Collect and Use Your Data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide and improve our services

  • Generate AI-assisted job descriptions, CV evaluations, and interview summaries

  • Enable fair and transparent candidate assessments

  • Communicate with users and provide technical support

  • Ensure platform security and monitor usage

All evaluations are guided by recruiter-defined criteria. Our AI never makes final decisions; recruiters retain full discretion.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity: To provide you with the Bunjee.ai platform and features

  • Legitimate interest: To improve our services, prevent bias, and ensure fair evaluations

  • Consent: For candidate participation in interviews and any optional processing

5. How We Obtain Consent

We obtain user consent in the following ways:

  • Recruiters provide consent by checking a box during the account creation process. This indicates acceptance of this Privacy Policy and agreement to data usage for platform functionality.

  • Job Seekers are presented with a clear notice and consent request before participating in AI-led interviews. Consent is recorded before any data is collected or processed during the interview.

6. Data Sharing

We use third-party service providers to power the core functionality of Bunjee.ai (e.g., AI processing, CV parsing, cloud hosting). These providers act as data processors and operate under strict contractual obligations.

We do not publicly disclose the names of these subprocessors. If you would like a list of our current service providers, please contact us at privacy@bunjee.ai.

We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes.

7. Model Improvement and Anonymized Data Use

To enhance the performance and fairness of our AI systems, Bunjee.ai may use candidate data (e.g., CV content, interview transcripts, assessment results) in an anonymized and aggregated form.

Personal identifiers are removed, and the data is used solely to create general patterns or training personas to improve the accuracy and reliability of our evaluation models. This anonymized data is never linked back to any individual and is not used to make decisions about any specific person.

Recruiters remain the data controllers for candidate data submitted through their job posts. Bunjee.ai acts as a data processor when delivering services on their behalf and as a co-controller only in the context of anonymized model refinement.

If your organization prefers that anonymized candidate data not be used for model improvement, please contact us at privacy@bunjee.ai and we’ll honor that request.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. Specifically:

  • Candidate data (CVs, interview recordings, assessments) is retained for up to 12 months following the conclusion of the relevant hiring process, unless extended retention is explicitly agreed upon by the recruiter or candidate.

  • Recruiter data (account information, job posts, and activity history) is retained for the duration of the account's active status. Recruiters may request deletion of their data at any time.

Data that is no longer necessary is securely deleted or anonymized in accordance with GDPR and KVKK requirements.

9. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Correct or update inaccurate information

  • Delete your data (right to be forgotten)

  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing

  • Data portability

  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

10. Data Transfers

All data is securely stored in Germany (Frankfurt) via AWS. Any transfers outside the EEA (e.g., to subprocessors) are done with appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or participation in EU–US Data Privacy Frameworks.

11. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure data security, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging. However, no system is 100% secure. If you have any concerns, contact us at security@bunjee.ai.

12. Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and relevant supervisory authorities within 72 hours, in accordance with Articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR.

13. International Users

If you are located outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States or other regions, please note that we apply the same privacy protections and data handling standards described in this policy, unless local laws require different practices.
